The CPTED Corporación Región LAC (CPTED Region Corporation) was the first ICA Chapter that joined the ICA family under the new ICA Umbrella Initiative. The MOU between the ICA and CPTED Region Corporation was signed on 26 September 2020.

CPTED Region Corporation in brief:

✅ The CPTED Region Corporation was founded in Santiago, Chile in 2004 and is the pioneer and the leader of CPTED in the Latin American Region.

✅ The CPTED Region Corporation has influenced the development of other Hispanic chapters within the LAC Region including Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador, Argentina, Guatemala, Colombia, and others.

CPTED Mexico has been one of the most active CPTED organizations in the Latin American region. In 2019 CPTED Mexico also hosted the biennial International ICA Conference.  As the second chapter that joined the ICA family under the new ICA Umbrella Initiative, CPTED Mexico signed the MOU with the ICA on 11 November 2020.

CPTED Mexico in brief:

✅ CPTED Mexico began its activities in 2015. In 2016 the Mexican Federal Government included CPTED Methodology, led by CPTED Mexico, in their Social Prevention of Violence and Crime guidelines.

✅ CPTED Mexico is the sum of the efforts of two organizations: “STRATEGYMEC" and “Centro de Estudios en Seguridad Ciudadana y Humana (CESCH)” with a shared vision to promote socio-urban security interventions across Mexico. Through CESCH, CPTED Mexico now has presence in various parts of the country including Mexico City, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Tabasco, and Zacatecas.

✅ Today, CPTED Mexico has a place of representation as part of the Mexican civil society, as a member of the Citizen Council for Security and Procurement of Justice of Mexico City. Its work is recognized throughout the country as the leading organization with intention to improve the quality of life of Mexican communities.
